Spunk Pro new.Day.2

Spunk Pro(~!) has returned yet again. Did you see a post about new rules or anything? Me neither. Anyway. Tonight we are promised more insanity and stuff that will most likely both confuse and entertain the masses. Can you blame them? La Cosa Nostra was, well, displeased with Paradigm's subsequent defection and then teaming with arch-rival Paddy Baker to defeat the Tag Team Champions in a tag team match to earn Paradigm's freedom. Now that they've lost on in the ranks, they've decided to bring in Zannino's rather large cousin, Big Lou. To say he earned his nickname is beside the point, as he is huge. Tall, tattooed and really put a beating on poor Paradigm, who was maybe half this giant's size. Paradigm put up a valiant effort and after being flattened by a chokeslam was helped to the back by Paddy Baker who explained to him that "beatings happen, it is how you prepare for the next that matters."

As what happens after a long layoff, we had yet another debut on Spunk Pro television. You telling me that our tag division lacks depth? Pshaw, the NOLA tag team of Big Pimpin' and Slick Rodney made their debut against the gatekeeper team of Strike Force. Strike Force clashed pretty big time with the NOLA boys, who were all about brute force. The match ended with a count out when Slick Rodney got distracted beating the snot out of Wolf on the outside of the ring and Lee Stone, the legal man, was able to slip back inside.

With the main event looking to be Ken Shields vs. Lester Bourbon, well, you knew something was gonna happen. Spunk came out with a contract which was delivered to him via courier for his Heayweight Title shot. He called out Sommers, citing that Spunk Pro has never had somebody forced to sign a contract for a Heavyweight title match before, as he should know, being a multi-time champion himself. He claimed that Sommers was a coward and wouldn't face him tonight even if he did sign some contract. This of course brings out the champion, with manager Seamus McFadden and some of McFadden's boys, Big T and Havok in tow. McFadden proclaimed that Sommers feared no man, but that Spunk fears order and legally binding contracts that he can't weasel out of. As you can imagine, this made no sense to anybody, but we continue, as McFadden says that Sommers will of course accept his challenge for tonight... In a 6-man tag team match, if he can find the partners.

They climb into the ring now, staring him down, McFadden laughing, claiming that nobody will want to help Spunk, especially after beating the snot out of YUSUKE, who was his friend, on our previous show. Apparently YUSUKE isn't too smart, or has a different set of values and honor that McFadden doesn't understand, as he comes down to ringside and stands next to Spunk, saying that he still has much to learn from Spunk (but not that much). This still leaves it 3 on 2, which against these men, isn't exactly the best odds. What happened next, nobody expected, well, the part where all 3 men attacked the 2 was, right? Because that was exactly what happened. Spunk Pro is the home of wild brawls, afterall. But who came out to save them was the surprise, as it was Bobo Gomez who came in and he came in throwing fucking bombs, and it looks like we'll have yet another classic Spunk Pro 6-man Elimination match tonight!

The MPLL standout tag team of Bromista and Camillo del Noche took on VIO-Gun members AKAHIRA and Shogo Otsuka. Shogo, still sore over not getting his title shot against DEMOS and, well, getting the shit beaten out of him, did not look in top form. Bromista used a moonsault press to put the rookie away in a fast-paced match. Speaking of OdZ, leader ZODIAK faced off against Jesus X's younger brother, Damien in what was a very emotional match, with Damien getting busted open in the early goings. With Jesus X on the shelf, the odds went out of favor very quickly for Damien. Every attempt at a comeback was thwarted by the numbers game. Damien attempted to continue fighting, but the seal of the deal was the fireball that ZODIAK threw at him, with Damien staggering around holding his face it was a simple matter of ZODIAK grabbing him by the tights and rolling him up to finish the match. The rest of the Oni del Zokugai came into the ring, where it became an exhibition of how to hurt a lone man in a hurry. RUINER picked him up and dropped him onto his neck with the R-75, DEMOS picked him up and gave him the Pedigree, only for the big man to come in, with the rest picking him up and holding him up, only to be hoisted onto 001's shoulders, spun around and then dropped right onto his head. To say he was stretchered out was an understatement. Without his brother, OdZ were simply too much for Damien.

The young Ken Shields has made a statement in Spunk Pro in his short stint, which has angered the imposing vet, Lester Bourbon. The two have met under a few different circumstances, but it came down to this, a Texas Deathmatch, the Last Man Standing match. Shields, the Texan is looking for the big win and looking to put the monster to rest at long last. There was nothing pretty about this match, as both men simply beat the snot out of each other. Shields went down many times, but kept getting back up. This was frustrating Lester, which might not have been the best idea, as he ran into a well-placed Axe Bomber (a move he knows very well). Shields is in the corner, just hoping and praying the monster stays down, as he starts to get up, Shields quickly downs him again with a rolling punch, which could be it! He sees Lester starting to stir again and climbs up to the top rope and he drops the Golden Elbow! It was too much for Lester, the final onslaught put him down for good, with Shields emerging the new hero.

This brings us to our main event. The elimination 6-man tag is a match that is well-known to Spunk Pro fans, as many a grudge has been built and flourished inside of these matches. These matches have made careers, determined who true contenders are, proven who the toughest men are in the sport and so on. This one was no different, as McFadden's team, possibly the three most brutal men in the sport, squaring off with Spunk and YUSUKE with the unlikely partner of Bobo Gomez. Spunk came in the ring once again holding the unsigned contract, throwing it back in Sommers's face (clipboard and all), before Sommers just kicks it out of the way, smug in the fact that he has gotten into the worthy-challenger's mind. The first 20 minutes was back and forth action, the first shock of the evening came when Spunk was squaring off against Havok. Nobody expected Havok to use such a brutal powerbomb on Spunk, or his head to snap off the canvas like that. When Havok picked Spunk up and locked in the over-the-knee Cobra Clutch, Spunk was completely out of it. The first elimination was the number one contender!

YUSUKE was not going to simply sit back and watch this unfold, no, he came in and really took it to Havok, finishing off the job just mere moment after Spunk's elimination with his patented Dragon Suplex, putting Havok down for the three-count, as you can imagine, Spunk was livid at the man he beat to become the top contender easily putting away a guy that brutalized him. Spunk argued with YUSUKE about that very thing, which distracted him from the match at hand, as he simply claimed he was getting revenge for him. Well, he turned around into the B.A.D. from Big T, which spelled lights out, Spunk oddly enough with a smirk on his face.

The surprise of the night was Bobo Gomez fending off the champion and the biggest, toughest man in Spunk Pro history for a solid fifteen minutes, getting a few close falls and looking like a man possessed before the numbers game came into play. Just when it looked like he had the upperhand, going for a brainbuster on Big T, Sommers came in and levels him with a knee to the gut. T quickly brings him up for one of his own, which we all know can only go DOWN into the B.A.D. McFadden, like a mad conductor is shouting instructions from the floor, yelling out "BAD NIGHTMARE!" over and over again, as T holds Bobo up, letting the blood rush from out of his body into his head, as Sommers nods and moves off the ropes, bringing his knee up just as T brings Bobo crashing down, the force of the chokeslam right into the Champ's deadly knee. It was over from there. There was no other option. Spunk was not going to take this lightly, though, oh no, as all hell broke loose. YUSUKE and Spunk launched an assault against all three men, as Bobo was actually fighting off a medical crew. He took the most deadly finisher imaginable and he was refusing medical attention!

YUSUKE had Sommers lined up for the Shining Triangle lock he is known for, when Spunk pushes him out of the way, and subsequently out of the ring, only to go for a running knee kick of his own on the champ. YUSUKE tumbles out of the ring, only to look over and see the clipboard with the blank contract or a Heavyweight title match, a pen clipped to the top. As he watches Spunk arms outstretched over the fallen champion, a look of disgust comes over his face as he pulls the pen out and scratches his name onto the contract, sliding it into the ring and storming back to the locker room. Spunk looks down, and a look of horror comes over his face as he sees the name YUSUKE on the dotted line. He looks back at the entranceway to see YUSUKE, then looks down at the contract as YUSUKE gives him the 'up yours' motion and heads to the back through the curtain.

It looks like Spunk has lost his number one contendership!

1. Big Lou (13:33 - Giant Chokeslam) Paradigm
2. Strike Force (Brad Wolf/Lee Stone(O)) (18:11 - Count Out) Big Pimpin'/Slick Rodney(X)
3. Bromista(O)/Camillo del Noche (13:22 - La Bromista [moonsault]) AKAHIRA(X)/Shogo Otsuka
4. ZODIAK (8:56 - Schoolboy) Damien
5. Last Man Standing: Ken Shields (14:23 - Golden Elbow) Lester Bourbon
6. Elimination Tag: Spunk/YUSUKE/Bobo Gomez vs. Dan Sommers/Big T/Havok
Havok (26:07 - Havoklok) Spunk
YUSUKE (28:14 - Dragon Suplex) Havok
Big T (30: 25 - B.A.D.) YUSUKE
Big T (45:11 - B.A.D. Nightmare) Bobo Gomez

Spunk Pro new.Day

Spunk Pro is back! That is right, you have read that/watched that correctly, and well, we got a show for ya! As with everything Spunk Pro, plans happen and plans change, the last time we came to you was, well, January 7, 2008, and it is now February of 2009. Oh well. Spunk hosted a Mixed Martial Arts invitational in December, and I guess decided once again to get the band back together and come out of retirement. Here we are. Last year, well, it never happened, as everybody is pickin up where they left off, because why shouldn't they?

We have a new champion in Dan Sommers, pinning Jesus X, who is still deeply embroiled in a blood feud with Zodiak. This leaves us in now what is a bit of a murky title picture. We have Dan Sommers, the undisputed Spunk Pro Heavyweight Champion and no clear contenders. One would have to think that the title picture would involve some of Spunk Pro's top contenders, with Spunk winning the REAL Tournament in December, beating the Champion with a kick to the face, knocking him out cold. On the other hand, that was not pro wrestling rules, was not a sanctioned Spunk Pro event. Then when looking back, the man with the most wins over Sommers, the fly continually buzzing around him, frustrating him, pinning his shoulders to the mat is none other than the Celtic Bruiser himself, Sean Gabriel. Before Sommers had the chance to win the title, he was pinned a number of times by the Bruiser, and the show directly before was involve in a 60 minute draw in an elimination tag involving the Bruiser himself. Actually, Gabriel cleaned house in that match, which simply turned into Gabriel vs. Sommers and essentially was left up in the air. But then you gotta factor in, well, the rest of the roster!

It looks like we might get some answers, as the show is opening up with Gabriel coming to the ring, looking determined.

Gabriel: "Dan Sommers, let me be the first to, well, publicly congratulate you, boy. You've done it, you are the champion. You have reached the pinnacle of our sport."

He paces around the ring as the fans boo the talk of Sommers. Gabriel smiles and tries to calm them down.

Gabriel: "Now now, let's be fair to the champion. Sure, it was under suspect means, sure he made a deal with the devil and sold out Jesus X, delivering him on a platter to Zodiak to get this, but let's not cloud matters further. Sommers pinned the champion fair and square."

He pauses for a moment, then clears his throat.

Gabriel: "But... This leaves everything looking a bit confusing, Jesus X, he don't want a shot at the title, he don't want his rematch. No. He wants 001 tonight, and he wants to destroy Zodiak before he reclaims his title. I don't blame him. Sommers, this leaves you without a program my boy, but I must tell you, no matte the streak you are on, I can think of a man that you can't pin..."

The fans began to cheer, chanting "Celtic Bruiser" as Gabriel smiles again, shaking his head.

Gabriel: "As you can hear, the fans, they know what man I am talking about. They know who you can't pin.  I am here, Sommers. Tell that rat Seamus to make this happen. You know that this is your destiny, boy, you know that..."

The lights go out, as Dan's music begins to play and he comes out from behind the curtain with the title in his hand, it hanging down and scraping against the floor. Sommers hoists it up to his shoulder as he climbs into the ring, McFadden trailing behind him. Gabriel and Sommers face off, as Sommers holds the title right up in his face, then back around his shoulder. McFadden is shouting down Gabriel, as he grabs the mic out of his hand.

McFadden: "Sean, my boy, you are a bigger fool than I thought you ever to be! You want to challenge this man? You want to challenge the champion, Dan Sommers? The most dangerous man in the sport today? I knew you to be a fool, but this, ha, this is suicide, my boy."

Gabriel laughs as he motions for the fans to chant for him again, Sommers flipping out and kicking the ropes, spitting out into the crowd as Seamus tries to calm him down. Sommers grabs the mic from McFadden and gets right in Gabriel's face.

Sommers: "You want this? You want to feel the Nightmare? You GOT it!"

The fans erupt as Sommers throws the mic down, McFadden screaming and jumping up and down, asking Sommers what in the hell he is thinking when, yes, you got it right, more music hits. YUSUKE comes out from behind the curtain next to a loud, thunderous applause. He, as well, has a microphone.

YUSUKE: "Sean Gabriel, while you may be strong, you've had your chances, you've had your time. I've waited, and I've waited, and now is my time. Brute force against brute force is not what is needed, what is needed is technique, discipline and honor to defeat Sommers. That is me, that is YU..."

"We're Not Alone" by Peeping Tom hits the speakers, interrupting YUSUKE, as the fans erupt, chanting for Spunk, as he comes out behind YUSUKE, pushes him aside and poses for the fans a bit before grabbing the mic out of YUSUKE's hands and calling for the music to stop.

Spunk: "Apologies for interrupting this little love fest, but, have we forgotten who knocked Sommers the fuck out in just December?"

The fans go nuts as Spunk shrugs and nods.

Spunk: "Yeah, that was me. Not Sean 'I got choked out, but I'll say I was fouled' Gabriel, and it sure as fuck wasn't you, Yu. You, well, you were tapped out by him if I remember correctly. Now you think that you can beat him?"

YUSUKE nods as Spunk laughs.

Spunk: "What have you done to deserve this? I know you, know what you are ready for, and you aren't ready for this. Gabriel, Sommers, have your match. But know that I am coming for the winner. And Yu, well, YUSUKE, you think that you are big time now? Get through me first. But you better damn well hope that you beat me, because if you don't, don't think that I'm gonna go light on you. I promise that I won't. Hit my music."

His music resumes as he pushes the mic into YUSUKE's chest and stomps off to the back. It looks like our card is already falling apart and reshaping itself however the hell it wants to. Now we have Spunk vs. YUSUKE in a #1 Conteder's match of sorts and a huge, huge Heavyweight title match, DAN SOMMERS. SEAN GABRIEL. YEARS IN THE MAKING!

We were hoping that our first match would start, Havok vs. Paradigm, with Havok already in the ring and Paradigm in the back warming up, when Paddy Baker approaches him. Paradigm looks poised to attack when Baker laughs and tells him to calm down. He asks 'digm how he feels to be the little messenger boy being sent out to his death against an angry Havok, doing the dirty work for Zannino & Co., as always. They argue a bit, before Baker tells him that he knows the contract, he knows how the italians work and is willing to help him. Bianco storms in, fuming at this, saying that Paradigm "owes him a considerable debt" and can't just be "let go." Baker lays down a challenge, if Briggs and Zannino can beat the both of them, Baker will work for Bianco & Co., but if they defeat La Cosa Nostra, Paradigm's debt is paid off. Bianco laughs and accepts, telling Baker he looks forward to having another 'mick' on the crew to demean.

I guess then, Bianco sends out poor Joey Knuckles in his place. Ouch. Havok basically tosses him around and then chokes him out with the Cobra Hold over the knee, the Havoklok.

In what looks to be our original main event, the WWA Welterweight Championship, well, it has fallen apart as we cut to backstage with DEMOS assaulting Shogo Otsuka! Otsuka is laid out, bloody, and DEMOS looks, well, demonic. Officials come back to break it up and Marakuso says he is sick of OdZ running around like they own the place, he strips DEMOS of one of his titles, the WWA Welterweight Championship on the spot. If Shogo can't compete for it, neither can DEMOS. Instead, tonight there will be a Welterweight Invitational for the vacant title!

What ensued was an incredible bout, featuring 8 top contenders, including a few MPLL stars from Mexico, El Matador, M.Y. Stereo, Espirito, BARACK (Barack Obama/Rock impersonator) and a familiar face to Spunk Pro fans, Wataru Araya. Also shaDow backed out of his tag match obligation to enter, RUINER decided to represent OdZ and a surprise entrant in Juan Leche delighted the fans! The pace was breakneck, crazy submissions, big dives, double teams. I'm sure that you can imagine the insanity. The first elimination was sadly BARACK, who going for a Rock Bottom on El Matador, found himself taunting too much and blabbing about change, and ended up in a modified facebuster and then El Matador pinning him with one foot. Ouch. Espirito was outed by Araya using the Firebuster Arrow soon after. When going for a Firebuster on M.Y., Leche took this to heart and used a springboard crossbody landing on Araya for the quick 3-count! shaDow wasn't long for this world, getting fireball bombed by RUINER for the 3-count. M.Y. went for a german suplex on RUINER, only to get kicked in the balls while the ref wasn't looking and rolled up for a 3-count! This leaves Juan Leche, RUINER and, well, El Matador! R-75 by RUINER on Matador! He is gone, but for a newcomer he did extremely well! Big kenka kick on Leche, RUINER looking to keep the title in OdZ and prove himself to be just as good as DEMOS, his partner.  Leche catches him with a savate kick and goes for a crossbody, only for it to be ducked, he picks up the world famous Leche, kicks him in the balls, R-75! 1! 2! 3! New champion, and sadly it is an OdZ member! The title didn't go far, that is for sure.

With shaDow out of the tag match now, this leaves eDo against Johnny Jett, the charismatic International Champion, a belt that eDo helped to make famous when we knew him as Tomohiro Ito, before he, well, went emo. It was a fast-paced and tough match, with DanDead the enforcer getting involved what felt like a few times too many. When the Red Carpet Rub was applied, he had no choice but to tap out and leave Jett with his title secured.

What followed was the contract tag match, where the stakes were high for both Baker and Paradigm. Paradigm has been forced to work under La Cosa Nostra for what seems like years now, for simply losing a match like this. Being in 'debt' to La Cosa Nostra is never a good thing, and we all know Baker and Gabriel's troubles with La Cosa Nostra. With Gabriel having his sight's set on Sommers, it looks like Baker is looking to bring somebody new into the Celtic Bruiser fold. It was another classic tag match, just like we are used to between the sides, but with Paradigm, the young crafty fighter taking Gabriel's place. This inherently made this match a lot more technical and less of a brawl. Baker and Paradigm worked well as a pair, helping each other out of a few tight spots before clearing the ring, Baker getting the shoulder breaker on Zannino after a Piledriver by Paradigm, then locking in the chicken wing armlock while Paradigm keeps Briggs at bay and Zannino is forced to swallow his pride and tap out! What a huge win, as Paradigm and Baker celebrate, Paradigm looking like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders. You have to believe with a win over the tag team champs that this unlikely pair is also the first in line for a shot at the tag titles!

Jesus X is staring down the mask of the man that he created. Sorrow fills his eyes, as he understands that a lot of this man's pain is his fault. He has apologized in the past, but none of that seems to matter at the moment, as the monster has found a new master, possibly one more devious than imaginable. Zodiak has no real plan, he has no agenda, he just wants the world to burn. Jesus X is and always has been his target due to his message of redemption. Zodiak sees redemption as a lie, as a message to the weak.

Jesus X throws the figurative and literal first blow, punching 001 in the face, which doesn't even seem to affect him. More and more damage he is inflicting on the monster, who is simply absorbing it. This continues for a few minutes, with Jesus X simply running through his spots, but not really seeming to hurt 001 all that bad. He is getting hurt, no doubt, but he keeps getting up for more. Jesus X finally has him lined up for the Saviour Kick, the fans are pumped, but everybody seems on edge, it can't be this easy, can it? He goes for it, and the big man ducks under, then reaches his giant hand up to Jesus X's throat! CHOKESLAM! That just shook the ring! Jesus X is writhing on the mat as 001 picks him up by his newly grown back hair, the mane that Zodiak had claimed as his own just over a year ago (to be fair, we haven't run since then). He picks him up and then tucks him for what looks to be a powerbomb, but he hoists him up and then holds his arms, outstretched in a crucifix! Zodiak now makes his way through the crowd, hissing through his lips as he calls or him to finish it. What follows is an absolutely devastating Black Tiger Bomb, Jesus X's head bouncing off the mat... But he isn't going for the pin. Zodiak slides in under the ropes and pulls, oh no, a set of clippers out from his trunks. He is going to reclaim Jesus X's hair!  Sure, we haven't run in a while, but how is this fair? The buzz is heard at ringside and it looks like this was just a set up, a public castrating! Wait, somebody just ran through the crowd, is that? LARIAT! He just took Zodiak's freaking head off! 001 pulls Zodiak's limp body out of the ring as Jesus X whispers to what looks to be D, Jesus X's estranged brother, "Damien, you don't have to, you don't have to.." D simply shakes his head and grabs a mic, declaring war on both of them. It looks like we have an impromptu tag match!

The action is hot and heavy, with Damien (as his brother called him) does most of the work, as Jesus X is still rattled by the assault. Damien seems to be doing some damage to the monster, but 001 and Zodiak are keeping their tags up, keeping the match flowing and the ring cut off. Things go awry when Damien and Zodiak spill to the floor, Jesus X is looking to dive out onto Zodiak and save his brother when he turns around to stare at the monster 001's chest! When his hand wraps around Jesus X's throat it was no surprise. What followed next was a chokeslam with speed and power unlike we've seen in a long time, Jesus X landing directly on his neck, his body crumpling on top of it, and he looks to be hurt, bad! Damien tries to tend to his brother, but this just won't work, not in a 2-on-1 situation against men, no demons like these. He has a few valiant comebacks, but it all proves to be in vain as Zodiak picks him up and plants him with the Zodiak Spike (MDII, for the uninitiated) or the text book 3-count. But they don't look done, oh no, Zodiak is calling for 001 to "finish him." 001 picks him up, hoists him up onto his shoulders and just launches him across the ring, landing on top of his already laid out brother, the downed brother's in the shape of a crucifix now. Zodiak laughs as he leaves them both laid out in the ring.

We move now to what is one of our main events, Spunk facing off with his protege, YUSUKE in a match to determine who faces the winner of Dan Sommers and Sean Gabriel. The action starts off like you think it would, looking more like a kickboxing match than a wrestling bout, with spunk finally taking it to the mat with a judo throw, an ashi guruma! This just makes YUSUKE fight harder, both men going back and forth. YUSUKE catches a high kick from Spunk and CAPTURE SUPLEX! I think it is clear at this point that nobody is going easy here, both men have decided that this match is important. YUSUKE wants to prove that he can hang, and Spunk wants to prove that he is the top fighter in Spunk Pro. The chances of this match lasting long is, well, slim, because these guys are just killing each other. This is not a pace you usually see from heavyweights, this is two men throwing everything at each other, regardless of the damage they've taken. This is a fight to the death. YUSUKE scores a tight nearfall with a high kick on the master of high kicks, which as you can imagine is a slap to the face. Spunk quickly hoists him up, MF-1, but he isn't pinning him! He plants him with a few more kicks and then goes for a german suplex, one of YUSUKE's moves! 1..2...2.999! YUSUKE is furious as he slaps Spunk a few times, German of his own! 1...2...2.99! YUSUKE gets him up again, DRAGON SUPLEX! 1...2...2.999! This is crazy, he is going for it again, Spunk with a few elbows, goes behind, German Suplex! Another tight fall! He quickly transitions into a rear naked choke! YUSUKE is in serious trouble, but he makes the ropes. Spunk has him lined up for a high kick, YUSUKE catches, CAPTURE! 1...2..2.99!! These two aren't going to be able to get out of bed in the morning, no fucking way. YUSUKE off the ropes, looking for a kneel kick, Spunk ducks. Spunk sits him up, he dashes off the ropes, RUNNING FACE KICK! YUSUKE pops back up! Spunk with a few low kicks, a mid kick, a slap in the face, savate and then, BOOM! Terminal Saikyo High kick! YUSUKE has collapsed as Spunk drapes himself over him for the 1...2...3! Wooooow. Spunk has pulled this off, but YUSUKE had him beat what felt like 8 times, you gotta think this isn't how Spunk wanted it to go.

Spunk drapes YUSUKE over his shoulder and helps him to the back in what is, well, a mixed signal.

Now it is time, it is time for Dan Sommers to have his first and possibly only title defense against a very game Sean Gabriel. Sommers was the man that took Gabriel's WILD International Heavyweight Title, his manager and Gabriel is the man who has been seeking his vengeance. It starts out with a feeling out period, also known as punching each other in the face, with Gabriel finally breaking it down and starts stretching Sommers, working him over and trying to get the pace where he wants it to be, to where he can start grinding out the punishment. He drapes him over the shoulders and drops him throat first over the ropes. Sommers staggers around, but a few well placed punches lands Gabriel into a daze, enough to get locked into an abdominal stretch. Sommers of course, using the ropes as leverage! Pulling away just in time for the ref to check, until finally ref Druid sees it and calls for the break.

The back and forth jabs and overhands continue, both men going toe to toe until Sommers starts unleashing his flurry of knees, his knees being his deadliest weapon behind his fists and his brute strength. He follows up with a few well-placed knee drops to the back o the head. Sommers then picks Gabriel up and dumps him out of the ring to catch his breath. Gabriel walks in to a few more knees, a huge running powerslam and another knee to the face, with Sommers picking up a quick 2-count, lifting Gabriel's head up at two. He follows up picking Gabriel up and powerbombing him right onto the top turnbuckle! Ouch. Gabriel tries to fight back with a few punches, but is downed by a big headbutt from the champ for another close 2-count. Sommers, uncharacteristically perched up top and a diving double axe handle! 1...2... no! Gabriel kicks out. Gabriel now fighting back with a few tight fists, school boy! 1! 2! NO! This has just upset Sommers, as he decks him and there it is, the Alabama Death Drop (Reverse DDT), 1...2...2.5! Gabriel is still game! Alabama Deathlock applied! He has it on him, but Gabriel able to get the rope break!

This is just all Sommers now, as he picks Gabriel up by the hair, who is punching away at Sommers in the ribs, but Sommer isn't even flinching as he drives him down with the sit out powerbomb! 1...2.. Gabriel kicks out with force! Gabriel off the ropes, running knee to the gut, off the ropes again and a big diving elbow! He is starting to get fired up, and a headbutt downs him and give the champ a breather. There it is, that brutal Dan Sommers backdrop suplex he is known for! This is usually a sign of things to come, and there is the sitout powerbomb again! ONE COUNT ONLY! Gabriel picks him up and shotguns him against the ropes again throat first! Gabriel going up top, diving elbow drop! The fans are feeling it! Sommers whipped off the ropes and a big back body drop! Elbow drop off the ropes! Gabriel is making this interesting! Gabriel off the ropes and nails a big lariat! He peels off his elbow pad as he calls for another! Sommers staggering up, wait! McFadden grabbed his foot, tripping him up, Gabriel turns around to shout at McFadden as ref Druid admonishes McFadden, as Sommers has peeled back his knee pad, Gabriel turns around and he finds himself up on the shoulders of Dan Sommers! The crowd is livid, screaming, shouting as Gabriel is trying to elbow himself to freedom. He got his freedom, but it wasn't the direction that he wanted. Oh no, it was a fate far worse. He came rushing down, head first onto the bare knee of Dan Sommers, the crack was heard throughout the arena as it dropped silent. Gabriel crumbled to the canvas as Sommers went to pick him up again, but he was limp, Druid pushes Sommers away, checks on Gabriel and calls for the bell. This one is over, Sean Gabriel, the Celtic Bruiser, has been knocked out cold!

Sean Gabriel, one of the toughest men we've ever seen, has been annihilated by Dan Sommers Baker and Paradigm are out checking on Gabriel as Baker looks concerned, calling for a stretcher. Sommers hoists the title over his shoulder and the look in his eyes is nothing short of demonic as McFadden pats the title and shouts into the camera about nobody being able to stop this man. For once, McFadden could be right, as he stands menacingly over Gabriel with the crew holding him back from attacking the downed Gabriel while they load him onto a stretcher.

Spunk Promotions REAL '08

After a long layover, Spunk Pro has decided to throw a bone to fans, a one night, one off tournament under what has been described as REAL rules. The rules are as follows:

5 Rounds
3 Minute Rounds
Each fighter has 10 points
1 Point deduction for a Takedown
1 Point deduction for a Knockdown
1 Point deduction for a Ropebreak
KO or Submission ends the Fight
EVERYTHING ELSE GOES.

The Brackets are as follows:

Spunk vs. Stuart Robinson
Rick Briggs vs. Paddy Baker
Sean Gabriel vs. Ted Zannino
YUSUKE vs. Dan Sommers

Spunk vs. Stuart Robinson:
R1. Spunk taking it to Stu early on, with an assault of mid kicks followed by a jumping high kick, Robinson absorbing most of the blow and coming back with a big right hand, Robinson goes for his signature low blow -- legal in this contest -- only to be met with a high kick! Robinson down! The first point deduction and he stays down for a 3 count, only dazed. Some more back and forth, Stuart able to daze him and goes for the Burning Lariat! Spunk catches it and has a wakigatame! Stuart is forced to reach for the rope break, putting him down 2 points now! Robinson is furious, as he is brushing off all of these attacks now, even getting peppered in the face with step kicks. Robinson with a brutal low kick on Spunk, and as Spunk is getting up he uses his own move, the face kick against him! Spunk is down! Spunk is DOWN! The ref is counting.. 1...2...3....4....5.....6....7.....8....9! HE IS UP! That was incredibly close, Spunk with a few elbows and follows up with an overhead throw to cost Robinson another point. The round winding down, Robinson charges and -- CATCHES A SAVATE KICK! HE IS DOWN! The ref starts to count, but the bell saves Robinson.

Spunk 9 - Robinson 6

R2. Spunk looks to finish things early charging at Stuart with a lariat of his own, Stuart ducks, only to be met with another Savate Kick! Down! He gets up at the 7, and one has to think his ribs are hurting him now. Spunk goes to throw a midkick and Stuart slips through the ropes, knowing the legalities of these rules and that this is a no-man's land. Wait, he is running up the rope, this is most unorthodox! He is going for a flying lariat! Spunk catches him and slams him down! Stuart down to 4 points now! Spunk quickly slaps on an armbar! Stuart is able to wrangle up enough strength to break free and not let him hyperextend. Spunk going back to the ribs as he gets him in a thai clinch and starts driving knees into the midsection, Robinson able to stagger away, but that deadly Savate Kick catches him again! This could be it! No! He is up at 7, but down to 3 points! Stuart rallying with some chops and jumping high kick! It sends Stuart flying out of the ring, that would have been a point if Stuart stayed in, but now he gets his recovery time and no penalty! Spunk looks furious with the ref! Stuart back in and looking leery and Spunk quick to pounce with some elbows, HIGH KICK! Another point, and Stuart struggling to get to his feet, 20 seconds left in this round and he is down to two points! Spunk smells blood as Stuart gets up, a stiff knee to the ribs and another high kick! He wants him to stay down! Stuart up at 9! Spunk dashes at him but the ref holds him back with 2 seconds on the clock as the round winds down, and Spunk looks livid! Why was the ref holding him back, he had 2 seconds for the kill!

Spunk 9 - Robinson 1

R3. Spunk looks to end it quickly with a high kick, and Robinson ducks under, then meets him with a right hand! Vertical Suplex!  Robinson gains a takedown point! Spunk gets up and the look on his face is one of a man who lost a point when he didn't need to, this only forces him to throw another Savate Kick, which meets the ribs of Robinson dead on as he staggers back, trying to grip the ropes, but it was too much, the damage to his ribs is too much for him! He is down! This one is over!

Spunk (R3 :20 - TKO (Points)) Robinson

Rick Briggs vs. Paddy Baker:
R1. A fued that has been built up in the pro wrestling ranks becomes REAL, as it looks like Baker is no-nonsense as he comes out in what looks to be an ancient wrestling singlet, but as we know, Baker does coach high school wrestling, so we can only expect him to be looking for the takedown points and the submissions. Briggs goes for a flying knee, only for the crafty Baker to step out of the way and grab hold of him from behind, simply manhandling him to the mat with a backdrop suplex! Baker with the first point and he backs off, looking pleased with himself. Briggs, ego bruised offers a knuckle lock with Baker, who gladly obliges. Baker pushes and pushes until he gets Briggs' shoulders to the mat, but there are no pinfalls in REAL rules, Paddy!  Briggs pushes back up, and ooh, a low knee to the groin and he tosses Baker over his shoulder! Briggs with a point!  Baker is furious! Right hand sends Briggs crashing into the ropes, and a headbutt sends him over! Once again we see a man saved from losing a point due to falling through the ropes, and Baker is pissed. Baker with a few punches and a gutwrench throw! Another point loss and Baker quickly hops on him looking for the kimura hold! Briggs loses the point and might have to submit! Briggs, it looks like, just punched Baker in the balls while the ref wasn't looking! It was enough to get Baker off of him! Baker stands up and is met by a lariat that stuns him and a right hand that sends him crashing through the ropes! A lot of clinching ends the first round.

Baker 9 - Briggs 8

R2. Baker wastes no time with a headbutt and another on Briggs, he grabs both legs and drops him, flipping him over into a Boston Crab! Briggs is forced to the ropes and gives up his third point! Baker's wrestling skills are getting the better of Briggs here. Briggs gets up and into an overhead throw for another point! Baker is on fire! Briggs shoots a double that Baker stuffs, he goes to throw Baker and rebound, but Baker drops a double hammer blow to down him. Baker quickly follows up with a very Stu Hart-ish armbar, only for Briggs to have to put his foot on the ropes again, this old shooter is making a fool of him! Baker up 9 - 5 now, only 30 seconds into this round! Briggs goes for a punch, but Baker catches it and lands a BRUTAL headbutt! Then another! Briggs down! Briggs down to 4 points and the ref is counting him down! He stays down for 5 before shaking the cobwebs, he goes for another punch when he is on his feet, but Baker catches it, flips him around into a crossface chickenwing! This old shooter has a lot of tricks! Briggs has some of his own, with a kick to the balls that the ref didn't see again! Baker recovering as Briggs is pounding on him in the corner, only for Baker to shoot another double into a boston crab, not sure how that isn't a takedown point, but Briggs forced to rope break again, Briggs down to 3! Baker working headbutts again, and he has him in a standing Stretch Plum! Briggs is trying to fight to the ropes, but he can't handle the pain anymore and has tapped out!

Baker (R2 2:14 - Submission (Stretch Plum)) Briggs

Baker goes on to face Spunk in the next round, which should be an incredible match up, modern shoot wrestling vs. old shoot wrestling! Baker will be the fresher of the two, as well!

Sean Gabriel vs. Ted Zannino:
R1. So here we are in another bitter rivalry taken to the REAL. Both men have shown up looking like they are entering into a street fight; fists heavily taped, t-shirts still on! They start off hockey clinching until Ted gets a right hand! Sean looks dazed! He slaps on a sleeper hold! Gabriel is out! Gabriel, the Celtic Bruiser is OUT!

Ted Zannino (R1 :53 - TKO (Sleeper)) Sean Gabriel

Nobody is quite sure what we just saw, except that the toughest man in Spunk Pro is laid out in the middle of the canvas and Ted Zannino moves on to the next round! Maybe Zannino's submission skills are just that good? Was Zannino's first loaded? I'm sure officials are going to be grilling him as well as looking over the rules, but with both men with taped fists it will be hard to argue.

YUSUKE vs. Dan Sommers:
R1. This is a fight that every fan is looking forward to; Dan Sommers, the World Champion and top level brawler and boxer against YUSUKE, accomplished submission expert and noted kickboxer. Sommers starts off taunting YUSUKE who comes at him with a wheel kick, only for Sommers to throw a dropkick at that, which is very New Japan juniors 1997. Sommers throws another dropkick and YUSUKE just eats it, following with a Maeda-esque kneel kick that Sommers catches, only for an Inoki-esque sweep kick to trip him. Lots of homages. Sommers going for a straight right, YUSUKE blocks it, going for a Bas Rutten palm blow and Sommers ducks and headbutts him! Scorpion Deathlock! YUSUKE able to power out with his tough legs. Sommers quickly trips him again, spits in the ref's eyes, kicks YUSUKE square in the balls while the ref is distracted and locks it in again! YUSUKE is scrambling for the ropes, but Sommers pulls him back and YUSUKE is forced to submit!

Dan Sommers (R1 1:49 - Submission (Scorpion Deathlock)) YUSUKE

What looks to be another upset of sorts, but Dan Sommers IS the Spunk Pro Heavyweight Champion, and tonight he proved that. Sommers goes on to face Ted Zannino who scored the even quicker submission victory.

Round 2!

Spunk vs. Paddy Baker:
R1. With how this night has shaped up, nobody knows what to expect of this fight, except that it will be REAL! Spunk keeps his distance to start with the mid kicks, followed by a kneel kick! Baker quick to his feet and follows up with a headbutt! Baker goes for a german suplex throw, but Spunk rolls through, he goes for a front kick, Baker catches it! He trips Spunk down, but Spunk quickly to his feet, Spunk with a double into an overhead throw for our first point! Right into an armbar! Baker forced to grab the ropes! Spunk looks for a high kick, Baker ducks under, HEADBUTT! Spunk goes down! Spunk goes down! He goes down for a 3 count only, it is Spunk 9, Baker 8! Spunk thai clinches and is kneeing the ribs, going for the same gameplan he had for Robinson! He follows with that deadly Savate Kick, but Baker doesn't go down! Baker, a proponent for core strength as opposed to flashy gym exercises has just proven what core strength can endure! The same with headbutts! Then a monkey flip!?!? Wow. Another point, we are tied! Spunk rushes Baker and ties him up, pushing him against the ropes and into an armbar! Baker forced to get the break!  Baker back up, and Spunk with a nice double leg takedown, Baker's head bouncing off the mat! Spunk mounts him with ease, using his jiu-jitsu and flows into another armbar! Spunk looking for the submission, he straightens his hips out and the ref pulls them apart! Spunk celebrates as the bell rings, until the ref tells him time simply ran out on the round!

Spunk 8 - Baker 6

R2. Spunk starts off with a Savate Kick! Baker still standing! Another! Still standing! The fans are going crazy! He hits another and Baker is down! Baker up at the 5, and quickly shoots in and gutwrench suplexes him to the mat for a point! Spunk is furious as he stands up and just high kicks Baker, who falls back into the ropes with a giant gash opened over his head! Spunk locks in a boston crab! Baker scrambles to the ropes, bloody and battered! Down to 4 points! He stands up and walks right into a high kick! I don't think he can see anymore! He goes down! 3 points and he gets up at 5 again, Baker is more guts than brains! Spunk sweeps him off of his feet and goes for another armbar, and Baker with another break, 2 points! Spunk might win on points again, something we know he is not looking for, as he wants to end this fight! Baker up and headbutts Spunk! BLOOD! He just returned the favor! Savate Kick with FURY, and Baker still up, Spunk looks furious, ANOTHER! Baker down to one point as the ref counts him down. Baker up at 7! Spunk looking to end this with a high kick, but Baker falls through the ropes to save his skin. Baker is a bloody mess now, as Spunk's cut looks to be right under his eye, Baker's is right over it. They might need to stop this! Baker pushes the ref away who is trying to inspect his cut, and there it is! The Savate Kick! Baker down! This is over!

Spunk (R2 2:01 - TKO (Points)) Paddy Baker

Spunk's second victory, his assurance to move onto the finals with another TKO by points victory. Some might say his kickboxing isn't looking as good as usual, but it is good enough to get him into the finals of the very first REAL tournament!

Gabriel is helping clean up Paddy's cut as he yells at the cameras that he was robbed, that Zannino had a loaded fist and that it was "bloody bullshit!" Apparently Zannino was cleared by the Athletic Commission, though, as our next fight between Zannino and Spunk Pro Heavyweight Champion Dan Sommers is underway!

Ted Zannino vs. Dan Sommers:
R1. One has to think that Sommers has an advantage, being champion and all, but Zannino scored a flawless win over his arch-nemesis. They square off, and Zannino looks to take aim with his newly found DEADLY FIST, and Sommers moves out of the way, then charges at him with a BLOCKBUSTER of a knee to the face! It catches Zannino square on the jaw! Zannino down! Zannino down! The ref starts to count, but Zannino is not moving! This one is over!

Dan Sommers (R1 :20 - KO (Knee Strike)) Ted Zannino

FINALS:

Spunk vs. Dan Sommers:
R1. When you look at these men, one clearly has an advantage, with Sommers coming off of two quick wins, one a submission the other an incredible knockout, and Spunk coming off of two incredibly hard fought TKO victories that he had to earn all of, with a nasty cut under his eye. Both men apprehensive, with some boxing from a distance, not really scoring, HIGH KICK! Sommers only goes down for a 2! Sommers walks right into another! What a way to start the finals! The fans are on their feet! Sommers still only down for 2! Sommers gets caught with a midkick and slips through the ropes and the fans are livid, as is Spunk! Sommers walks in, to, well, WRATH of the Savate Kick! Sommers down for a 5! Sommers up and Spunk trips him, then a few knees to the head as he tries to get up -- FACE KICK! There it is! He was looking for that all night, and there it is! 7.....8....9....10! HE IS DONE!

Spunk (R1 2:01 - TKO (Face Kick)) Dan Sommers

Spunk Pro 1.7.08 -- Fall From Grace

1.7.08

The Seventh of January saw another night of hot Spunk Pro action, the first in the new year! We kick things off with Paddy Baker taking on Spunk Pro stalwart and utter failure Rusty Chodes. Chodes just got beaten up a lot (a LOT) and fell to the Reverse Piledriver from Baker for the fundamental 3-count. Baker is tough, but you knew that already. The next match was one that we've been brewing up for a while now, Paradigm, still trying to break free from the clutches of Spunk Pro Tag Team Champions, La Cosa Nostra faced off with the MAN, the MASTER AND RULER OF THE DANNYVERSE, who ruined his title shot at Johnny Jett last time we saw Spunk Pro action. Needless to say, Paradigm was outweighed, outpowered but not outsmarted. Oh no, he was taking every chance that he got to use his quickness and his brains to his advantage. The finish was exciting, as Dan was going for a big chokeslam, and in midair Paradigm catches his head and locks in the Guillotine Choke! They crash to the mat as Paradigm chokes the life out of Danny Bell, and he fells the giant!

We saw two hot Spunk Pro feuds come to a frothing head, as DEMOS teamed up with Lester Bourbon to take on their rivals, Shogo Otsuka and Ken Shields. It was a face-paced match, with DEMOS looking on point against Shogo, and Shields doing his using quick in-and-out attacks on Lester, but Lester got the better of him this time, as he crashes from behind with a lariat, leading into the SIDS Clutch for the pinfall. Was there a brawl afterwards? Well, is this Spunk Pro? Yes, yes it is. Yes, yes there was a brawl.

We had a big return tonight, as Havok returned from a trip to the southwest, where we can only imagine him training in the desert, eating spicy foods and probably having sex with Latina hookers. Needless to say, he looked more focused than we've seen him, as his return bout was a challenge, as the previously undefeated streak he held was scrubbed by YUSUKE, the sensation with a huge shouda to the back of the head. YUSUKE of late has felt like he has been criticized as a man who looks to finish with his submission holds or his Dragon Suplex, and that he isn't 'dynamic enough' to some fans, so this was a big proving point to him, to defeat a previously undefeated Havok, and doing so with a deadly, yet different technique than usual.

As you'll remember, Jesus X lost that huge Cage Hair vs Mask match at our year-end extravaganza, which led not only to the embarrassment of ZODIAK shaving his head, but the uncertainty of ZODIAK being granted permission to have his choice of match any time that he wanted, any rules he wanted. ZODIAK is out now, alongside DEMOS and RUINER, and our fears are coming true, as he is challenging Jesus X to come to the ring. Marakuso comes out to make sure this situation doesn't get out of control, to act as a mediator, but with all 4 of these men in here, who knows! ZODIAK lays it on the line;

ZODIAK: You wanted me to have nothing, you wanted to take me and destroy me. Well, I've shed myself of my possessions, Jesus. My payback, is not only to show you my strength without them, but to take everything from you. Everything.

Jesus X swallows hard as he adjusts the title on his shoulder, pointing to it, then at ZODIAK, laying the title out in between them and telling ZODIAK to bring it on. ZODIAK simply laughs.

ZODIAK: I know what you want, and I know what I want. They are different paths, and sadly, for you at least, they do not cross tonight. Instead, its something far worse, something you aren't prepared for, something you know little about... Your title will be gone by the end of tonight, I can assure you.

Jesus X tries to jump at ZODIAK, but Marakuso holds him back.

ZODIAK: Your challenger, the man who has... Convinced me, with the help of one Seamus McFadden and a few thousand dollars, convinced me he should be the one to destroy you... That man.. Is DAN. SOMMERS.

Sommers' music hits as he comes out, followed by a maniac McFadden, laughing and clutching at his wrist. Sommers has the WILD International Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder and points at the Spunk Pro Heavyweight Championship, and that is all that is needed, as OdZ leave Jesus X speechless in the ring, as he stares down his contender for the night.

The Tag Team Champions were gracious enough to accept one final challenge from the former champions, Strike Force. Really, this should have been a triumphant match for Strike Force, as since losing to La Cosa Nostra they've honed their craft and become more vicious than befoe, more vicious and looking for the win. La Cosa Nostra, though, are crafty. Not everything they do is within the rulebook, but at some point, the rulebook goes out the window and underhanded techniques take over. Bianco used not only the almighty dollar to distract the referee, but many other techniques as well. It didn't matter, as Lee Stone wanted those titles back, and showed why he is one of the toughest men in Spunk Pro, as he laid both members out with the Stone Crusher. He had Riggs up for a second one, and Bianco deployed Joey Knuckle's daughter, Jani, to distract the ref, while Stone had Briggs up, Bianco slipped Zannino a pair of brass knux, and he cracked Stone across the back of the head, with Briggs rolling him up, the ref magically being in position and Zannino magically in position to crack Wolf across the skull and tuck the knux into his trunks for the 3-count to become a work of poetry in motion.

Now we come down to the main event, a match that Jesus X was not prepared for, and hell, how can you prepare for this? Dan Sommers since the summer (no pun intended) has been unstoppable. His finisher, the Alabama Nightmare has not only knocked out many men, it has ended careers, putting his former partner and best friend Hobo Joe on the shelf, possibly for the rest of his life, it has knocked out everybody from Shogo Otsuka, YUSUKE, Spunk, Jack Dod, Jason Blackhart, Angelo Sabatini, Shady, really, the list goes on and on. But Sommers is in no way a one-hit-wonder, he crushes opponents with his backdrop, he fractures skulls with his big lariat, mashes brains with his reverse DDT, then scrambles them with his jumping powerbomb. His fists are like getting hit with bricks, while his knees are like getting hit with a steel pipe, and nobody, and I mean nobody, has been able to stop Dan Sommers. The last time he challenged for the title, it was circumstance that prevented him from winning it, as he laid Spunk out cold with the Alabama Nightmare in a 3-way, only for Fiero to catch him with the Whammy Bar and lock the Lock of Rock onto Spunk to secure the title for him. This isn't discounting Jesus X, as he had the longest reign as Heavyweight Champion in Spunk Pro history, with his immaculate 'Seven Deadly Sins' series that blew fans' minds and had people in the back afraid to face him. But this feud with ZODIAK has done things to him, has changed him. Not only physically, as he now sports a crew cut after that embarrassing loss last month, but mentally. Since this feud began, it looks like Jesus X has aged at least 5 years. He looks worn, tired, like he watches where he goes, never knowing when ZODIAK will be there. ZODIAK was the man he hired to help him secure the Spunk Pro Championship again, but a change of heart made him cancel the deal, only for ZODIAK to swear revenge and essentially win the title for him. Since then, Jesus X has been trying to prove, not only to himself, but to the fans that he deserves to be champion.

This leads us up to tonight, where two of the most decorated and feared competitors in Spunk Pro history face off. One man walking the path of salvation and forgiveness, while the other walks a much darker, destructive path, as he seeks only destruction and pain. This was an emotional match for both men, as Sommers feels this is something he has deserved, having to 'dumb himself down' to be a comedy act with Hobo Joe, having to dig himself up from poverty to become a professional wrestler, and breaking the stigma of being a perennial tag team champion. Sommers was looking to simply fry Jesus X's brain, as the onslaught of punches to the skull and the DDTs were really wearing him thin, but the champ is resilient and refuses to go down. Jesus X is looking to connect with the Saviour Kick, the kick that since his return has been his main weapon, with the Sign of the X being retired, or saved for only the most dire of situations. Perhaps this was a situation for it, but he simply never had the chance for it, as Sommers was just overwhelming. The finish had the fans jumping up and down and screaming, as Jesus X had just planted Sommers with the Final Cut, and was waiting for him to get up to plant the Saviour Kick and secure his title. But that isn't what Sommers was planning, as he ducked under the kick, securing the champion onto his shoulders and much to the screams of protest by the audience nailed him with the Alabama Nightmare. Everything was moving in slow motion as the knee cracked across the face of Jesus X, as bloody splattered, a loud crack was heard throughout the arena and the sound of Seamus McFadden cackling broke through the static like fingernails on a chalkboard. The sound of the ref's hand dropping three times felt like watching an execution, no matter how quickly you want it to go and simply be over with, to end the pain, it dragged. Sommers has his hand raised, and the title firmly in his grasp as he spits down at Jesus X.

To say the fans were in shock is an understatement, as a new era of brutality quickly descended upon Spunk Pro as Dan Sommers, the redneck from Alabama, the man with more DUI's and DWI's than the entire roster put together, the man who once knocked out a black man's teeth in a bar one by one just because he was bored, the man who ruined the life of Goat Banga (remember him?) and crippled his best friend is now the Spunk Pro Heavyweight Champion. If there was a god, he would save this promotion and save Jesus X, but for now, its up in the air, as Dan Sommers makes his way to the back, screaming at fans that he is the champion, he is the man, and he is their ruler, OdZ's music hits and the lights dim. What happened next had to be seen to be believed, as OdZ, the lights flashing on and off were brutally attacking the fallen former champ. This is what ZODIAK wanted. ZODIAK wanted him to be weak, powerless, stripped of everything; his pride, his championship, his good looks and his spirit. What happened next is a blur, as the lights finally settled back, and a man walked out from behind the curtain, a huge man, one that we haven't seen in a very long time.. This man was not even a man, but a monster, it is 001! 001, the former Spunk Pro Heavyweight Champion, and he is stalking to the ring! 001 was Jesus X's bodyguard (acquired through questionable means, granted) turned foe, but it looks like 001 has forgotten, and that he is coming to save Jesus X!

... Only, there is no fear in the eyes of OdZ, but anticipation, as 001 enters the ring and stares them down, in between them and Jesus X, Jesus X helping himself up on 001, the mass of muscle that he is, only for 001 to look down at him, and then smash him across the skull with his fist! OdZ are laughing, fans are crying and Jesus X is getting mauled by this monster! The first chokeslam sounded like a shotgun being fired. The second was more muffled under the sound of the crowd, but what was heard loud and clear was 001 hoisting Jesus X up over his shoulders, holding him up by his arms in a crucifix position, and essentially just tossing him off of the tower that is his shoulders into one of the most brutal powerbombs we've ever seen in Spunk Pro, maybe even wrestling (and we employ Big T!).

Its silence now, as 001 stands over Jesus X, with ZODIAK's laughter being the only thing to pierce through the silence, as he stands over the fallen former champ, just laughing. Just laughing.

Spunk Pro December Digest

12.6.07

December was quite a month for Spunk Pro, as things start off with DanDead dismantling Joey Knuckles after La Cosa Nostra sent him out to take care of DanDead after a backstage incident where DanDead bumped into Rick Briggs, spilling coffee all over him. Post-match Zannino and Briggs dragged Knuckles backstage to meet with Bianco, and Bianco showed his displeasure towards Joey Knuckle's lack of winning edge, and claimed that he found a way for Knuckles to begin to repay them. From there a scantily clad girl came out from the door behind them and Joey's jaw dropped, as he starts shouting and crying, with Zannino laying a few fists to his gut while Briggs holds him up by his hair. Bianco explains that she is a beautiful girl and that he is sure she'll pay off Daddy's debts in no time. Uh oh.

The team of shaDow and eDo put on a blistering match against the evil luchadores, Bromista and Camello del Noche, it saw the 'Black as Love' boys just tossing themselves around with no worry about their bodies, with the Suicide Bomb from shaDow putting Camello away. The Spunk Pro International Champion successfully defended his title against Paradigm after Paradigm made such a valiant effort to win the title just weeks ago. It was a hard fought battle that saw Johnny Jett overcome what turned out to be strange odds, as Joey Knuckles was apparently ordered by La Cosa Nostra to stop at nothing to help Paradigm win the title. This would, in most cases, mean Johnny Jett made an incredible babyface comeback, but its Johnny Jett -- which means that things got fishy rather quickly. After taking some knuckles from Mr. Knuckles and Paradigm, Johnny Jett grabs the mic from the timekeeper and shouts for his 'secret weapon' to come out. This, folks, was DanDead. Danny Bell comes stalking out, laying out Joey Knuckles with a big boot, then making the sign of the cross as the fans go crazy, DANNY BOMB! Here comes Paradigm, he goes for a lariat, and Dan catches him -- chokeslam! He rolls Paradigm back into the ring, and Johnny Jett is quick to lock in the Red Carpet Rub, and this one is OVER.

ZODIAK and DEMOS are out now, and ZODIAK is running his mouth about Jesus X, as Jesus X comes out to confront him, ZODIAK claims that he will take everything from Jesus X, and that he demands Jesus X defends his title. Jesus X accepts the challenge and tells him he'll be happy to tear into ZODIAK, only for ZODIAK to laugh and explain that its not him, its not him at all. Jesus X walks off in a huff with his title as ZODIAK and DEMOS prepare for a face-off with VIOLENCE. The match played out a lot like their previous ones, just with this time Shogo picking up a much-needed pinfall win over DEMOS (finally) with the Shogo-MAX Cutter. ZODIAK was livid after the match, but regained his composure and headed to the back, dragging DEMOS behind him.

The first main event was a huge 6-man elimination tag between the Celtic Bruisers and Ken Shields against Big T, Dan Sommers and Lester Bourbon, a team to fear indeed. This match turned into a one-man show of sorts for Sean Gabriel, as Sean catches Lester with a Cloverplex after a Golden Elbow from Ken Shields, which might have knocked Bourbon out clean! Don't get me wrong, Gabriel was tagging in and out, which was the main reason for the team's success, but Gabriel just seemed unstoppable, next taking down Big T after working over his legs. He took out the big weakness for the big, powerful T with shots to the knees, finally locking in that Cloverhold and T trying to fight his way to the ropes, only for Paddy Baker to drop a few big elbows on him, and follow up with a headbutt, busting him wide open and Big T was forced to tap out! Then it came down to Dan Sommers as the lone survivor, and Dan Sommers fought like his life depended on it. Gabriel asked his teammates to stay back throughout this, as both men slugged it out for nearly 30 minutes, neither man wanting to go down. There was some confusion near the end, as Gabriel had an inside cradle on Sommers who was near the ropes and the ref counted to 3, but then saw that Sommers had a hand clearly grasping onto the ropes. This ate up whatever time was left (a good 14 seconds) and this match was declared a draw!

Sommers grabbed a mic and whilst holding the WILD International Heavyweight Championship spoke about how he was the only real champion in the company right now, and how the pro-wrestling world should be bowing to him. He made an open challenge to the champ, Jesus X, claiming that every champion of late has been ducking him.

This then brings out Jesus X for his phantom title match, as La Cosa Nostra's music hits and Rick Briggs heads to the ringing, claiming that La Cosa Nostra are true champions and that tonight he will bring home the big prize to Little Italy. It was a competitive, back and forth match with Jesus X having to throw everything that he can at Briggs who was working over the back of Jesus X, trying to set him up for the Cement Shoes (Sharpshooter). Jesus X fought through the pain, and the finish came when Jesus X missed the Saviour Kick, Briggs ducking under it, and Jesus X catch him from behind with the Final Cut for the 1....2...3! Well, we'd like to say that this was the end of this story, but it wasn't. This brought out Ted Zannino who was laying into the champ, only for a (really) surprising save from shaDow and eDo, who brawled with LCN into the crowd. It seems like some sort of deal was struck between LCN and OdZ, though, as Jesus X is laid out and waiting for ZODIAK and DEMOS, both with clippers in their hands. ZODIAK grabs a mic and tells DEMOS to hold him back while he takes away his beautiful hair from him. They beginning trying to shave his head only for YUSUKE and Shogo to run out and start fighting with OdZ, this in turn brings out Dan Sommers and Lester Bourbon who are trying to help OdZ, only for Ken Shields to come out and engage Bourbon, and Sean Gabriel coming out to attack Sommers, and we have just erupted into an all-out brawl around the ringside area. We have clippers, we have Shogo trying to rip DEMOS's mask off, this is chaos!

Manakuro Marakuso comes out with a slew of refs, agents and officials trying to break this up, as he announces what could potentially be one of the biggest matches we've seen in Spunk Pro in ages for the next show -- a Cage Deathmatch! Two teams -- Jesus X/Sean Gabriel/YUSUKE/Ken Shields against ZODIAK/DEMOS/Dan Sommers/Lester Bourbon. The stakes? It is a hair vs mask match, escape rules until its down to two men, then its anything goes -- pins, submissions, knockouts, just not escape. There is no escape come the end, only two men, and the winner of that gets to shave (or in DEMOS's case unmask) the loser's head. On top of that, the person who scores the pinfall gets to pick a match of his choosing, whenever he wants, for any title!

This hushes everybody down, as we have some tense stare-downs to end the show.

After the chaos that was our last show, Spunk Pro is back at you for a night that should prove to be a monumental way to ring in the new year for Spunk Pro. The show starts off with Brad Wolf annihilating Rusty Chodes with the Wolf's Bite in just 2 minutes. Johnny Jett teamed up with DanDead, giving Joey Knuckles and Paradigm a chance for revenge from the last show, but it turned out to be more of the same, with DanDead using the Danny Bomb on Joey Knuckles and Johnny Jett making a cocky cover for the win.

Shogo Otsuka and RUINER had anouther chance encounter, with Shogo using the hanging jujigatame on RUINER, attacking the arm he injured well over a year ago for a quick submission. Shogo is calling for DEMOS again, saying he wants his title back. La Cosa Nostra responded to the unspoken challenge from the two emo boys in shaDow and eDo. shaDow cut a promo about how nobody understands them, but that after winning the tag belts somebody will have to try to understand (but still fail, how deep). Well, they didn't exactly win, it ended in a brutalization from Zannino choking eDo out with The Big Sleep(er), eDo passing out in the sleeper and the ref having to call it. shaDow wept a lone tear at the loss, his hair in his face.

This brings us to the cage being assembled around ringside. Its a spectacle to be sure of, large and ominous as the match is about to begin. When the bell rings its an all-out dash for each other, as it feels like the teams have dissolved almost immediately and its just chaos. We can't tell who is on who at this point, just that people are getting beaten up pretty badly.

At the 5 minute point a buzzer sounds and escapes are now legal -- its a dash for the cage walls, only for bodies to go flying to the mat. The first escape was Dan Sommers and DEMOS at the same time, both helping each other by kicking off any persuers from the cage. Both landed at the same time, leaving things a bit uneven in the ring. That was alright, though, as YUSUKE made a dash for the cage, pulling himself out and over, followed by Ken Shields. Its a two-on-two situation now, but Sommers is on the outside smashing a chair against the cage, trying to deter anybody from climbing. Well, this just charged up the fiery Irishman, Sean Gabriel as he climbs out and over and jumps down onto Sommers, them brawling around the arena. Lester Bourbon is quick to follow as ZODIAK has just been sitting back, waiting for it to come down to himself and Jesus X. This was his plan, this is exactly what he wanted. Now that its just down to them, its a bloody brawl, both men smashing each other against the cage, ZODIAK covered in both of their blood looking to be in all of his glory. Jesus X finally makes a spirited comeback, springing off the cage with a crossbody and making a cover for a 2.9! Jesus X is setting up for the Savoiur Kick, ZODIAK up to his feet, and he ducks it -- FIREBALL! FIREBALL! HE JUST NAILED THE CHAMP WITH A FIREBALL! Jesus X is just convulsing, covering his face as he pops back up, leaning against the ropes trying to compose himself, the pain must be so intense.. ZODIAK launches himself at him and nails him with a lariat! He makes the cover and there is no way that he can last.. 1....2.....3! Its over, ZODIAK has won and this only means one thing.. Oh no, DEMOS coming back in, and he has two pairs of clippers with him!

DEMOS is holding Jesus X by the hair, as he is still shielding his face, but he shoves DEMOS off of him, he wants to take this with honor. ZODIAK looks like he is enjoying this as he starts to buzz away at his hair, the Champ's white, blood-stained and cinged locks falling to the mat. The show ends with ZODIAK standing over Jesus X with a handful of his hair in hand, this is MONUMENTAL.
