6.3.07 - A Night Like This

The show starts off with Tommy Fiero in the ring, pacing back and forth looking like he is ready to explode. The fans are chanting 'you suck' at him as well as pelting him with garbage as the look on his face is one of pain, last time he was in this ring his shoulders were pinned to the mat by the man he trusted to make sure he didn't lose that belt, Jack Dod. Jack Dod, the new champion is the man he calls out, demanding a rematch here tonight. Instead of Jack Dod's music, it is Jesus X's music! Jesus X, and everybody in this arena feels as though he has been cheated last week, and deserves another shot before Tommy Fiero does. Fiero says he is the former champion, and deserves -- oh shit, here comes Spunk! Spunk never got a rematch when he lost the title, Fiero effectively ducked him. This is a mess, all three men are arguing they deserve shots, and oh lord, here comes Dan Sommers! All four men are arguing in the ring at who deserves Jack Dod first.

The familiar music plays over the loudspeakers, and Jack Dod storms through the curtain, title around his waist and huge smile. Dod laughs and soaks in the chaos in the arena for a while before he opens his mouth, telling them none of them deserve to shine his boots. He tells all 4 men that he is in the driver's seat now, and decides who he faces and who he doesn't. Apparently this doesn't sit well with him, as D runs up from behind and nails him with a lariat! Things completely break down now, as we have refs and officials everywhere breaking them up. When Dod is to his feet he says tonight Jesus X, Tommy Fiero, Dan Sommers and Spunk will square off in a one night tournament to see who faces him. This leaves D, who is being held back from him, as Dod looks at him and tells him "tough luck, kid. Maybe you can be an alternate if anybody gets hurt, but for now, you are nothing but a punk."

Things start to clear up as the card takes shape, we are given word from Marakuso that he is working on assembling this right now, and it looks like it will be Spunk vs Tommy Fiero and Dan Sommers vs Jesus X, winners square off, winner takes all and gets a shot at Jack Dod next week. We now cut backstage to the Celtic Bruisers talking about their tag team title match tonight against OdZ, a match that has been built to for quite a while now, only for a familiar voice to come in from off-camera.

"Well me'boys, I'm here, much like we agreed," the camera pans over to Seamus McFadden, as scummy as every, twirling his cane.

"Aye, Seamus," Sean pats him on the shoulder. "Tonight we face a buncha' liars an' cheaters! They have our number when its the three 'o them, we need to even the odds."

"An' even the odds we shall, my boy, we shall." Seamus raps the cane on the ground a few times. "You boys prepare, for tonight things go exactly as they should, an' you boys will get exactly what you deserve."

"Aye!" Sean yells out as Paddy clenches his fist and shouts as well, they both pat Seamus on the shoulder and walk off, looking more confident now, as Seamus huffs and fixes his suit.

Our first match of the evening is 2 teams from south of hte border facing off in what was a quick-paced bout that wowed the fans. The absolutely amazing Espirito picks up the win over the two rudos alongside Hector Casas using his speed to his favor and using a diving hurricanrana for the 3-count. The next bout is a change at revenge for Brad Wolf, after Guterez made his debut of sorts last time and low-blowed his way into the hearts of the fans, or their ire, either way. This match was back and forth, with Guterez the vet brawler and Wolf, not one to brawling either took it to the elder Mexican, but it was another low blow and an inside cradle that ended this match, giving Guterez the win!

Wait! We have word something is going on backstage! Our cameras catch up and its Fiero standing over Spunk, chain dangling from his hand, blood-dripping from him as Spunk lays out on the ground, covered in his own blood. Fiero motions for him to get up, as Spunk is slowly picking himself up -- WHAMMY BAR! Fiero is one sick bastard, and looks like he might have bought a bye into the finals here tonight! Fiero makes his way out for his match, as he looks quite smug when they announce Spunk, play his music and he is nowhere to be found. Marakuso comes out and says that Spunk is injured and being inspected by doctors right now, there is no way he can wrestle. Fiero nods in agreement and grabs the ref, telling him to raise his hand just as D's music hits and he sprints down to the ring. The look on Fiero's face is probably much like when he read the first string of reviews for his film. We'd like to see the look on his face as he went down for the 3-count after the huge, crushing lariat, but most of the fans were too busy celebrating, and Fiero was a bloody mess anyway, I doubt we'd have seen much. D wasn't even supposed to be in the tournament, and now he has a chance of fighting for the title next week!

Fiero up, and the fans are pelting him with garbage again, and he comes Spunk! Both men exchanging blows, and the fans are going nuts. Spunk levels Fiero with an elbow to the face and grabs the house mic, "I'm sick of you, Fiero. This is months and months in the making, but you've cost me too much; my pride, my championship, and almost my company. Next week, its you and me, one on one. Next week, we settle this for good."

The fans erupt at the thought of the very first STEEL CAGE match in Spunk Pro, between Tommy Fiero and Spunk, the singles match that everybody has been dying to see since what, like September? We take a quick look backstage as we see Seamus McFadden peeking through a door, nodding, "so tonight, your impact will be felt. Tonight you help me this one time, this one time, and I'll make you a star." He backs up as the door swings open, the hulking mass of Dan Sommers stepping out.

"Jus' this once, an' I got myself whatever I want?" Dan glares at Seamus, who laughs and pats him on the back.

"Dan my boy, you stick with me an' I'll get you anything you want," he points towards the curtain. "Now go out there and get your title shot."

Sommers vs Jesus X is up next, and the fans seem firmly behind Jesus X, something that a few months ago seemed nearly impossible. Jesus X the longest reigning champion in our history, the most dominant save for Big T in the early days, and easily the most devious, but the tables have turned and he returns as a hero. The task at hand tonight is not an enviable one, though, as he has to take out the monster in Dan Sommers. Sommers has been on a tear, destroying everything in his path with his patented Alabama Nightmare. Nobody has survived the Nightmare yet. Jesus X fought incredibly hard, but he couldn't survive the Nightmare. He reversed it quite a few times, but when it finally hit, the match was over. This makes our main event of the evening Dan Sommers vs D, winner next week fights Jack Dod in what is looking to be a huge card, with Spunk vs Tommy Fiero.

We move on now to a match for the tag team championship, between the champions, OdZ, who have been completely unstoppable, leaving blood, carnage and fire in their wake against the Celtic Bruisers, easily the toughest two men who have ever set foot into the Spunk Pro ring. From what we've seen they have brought in Seamus McFadden to even the odds tonight, as RUINER will most likely show up at some point, and by the looks of it, Seamus will be bringing back up in DAN SOMMERS, who just had a grueling match with Jesus X. Things start off slow, as Sean and Paddy try to feel out their opponents, but these guys are not for being felt out, as it already starts looking bleak for them with biting, clawing, thumbs to the eye and low blows. Sean and Paddy are never ones to get outclassed though, as their punches and headbutts are doing massive amounts of damage. It is back and forth between the four men until RUINER peeks out from UNDERNEATH THE RING and tosses salt in the eyes of Sean Gabriel! DEMOS is arguing with the ref now, who is keeping Baker at bay while ZODIAK and RUINER are putting the boots to Sean on the outside! This is brutality! R-75 by RUINER! ZODIAK gets Gabriel up, and he is looking for a tombstone on the floor.. RUINER tells him to hold on as he peels back the mats, he is going to do this on the concrete!

Here comes McFadden! McFadden run/waddling out from behind the curtain, waving his arms towards Sean from the back, and here comes Dan Sommers! Sommers dashes out and gets the greatest crowd reaction we've heard for him since he has teamed with Hobo Joe! Have things turned around here for him! ZODIAK drops Sean as he stands toe-to-toe with Sommers, McFadden standing behind him shouting, and the ref has taken notice, finally and is trying to break this up. Baker, loose now hops on DEMOS and begins pounding away on him and the ref sees this and tries to break it up. Gabriel trying to make his way back into the ring and Sommers lariats ZODIAK! McFadden with a cane to the eye of RUINER and Sommers is picking Gabriel up, who seems like dead weight at this point. He hoists him up on his shoulder with McFaddens help and looks like he is going to roll him back into the ring, he starts to, then looks over at McFadden, who smiles at him. Sommers steps back and... No.. No.. Dear lord no -- ALABAMA NIGHTMARE!! The arena has fallen silent, as Sommers and McFadden stand over the fallen Gabriel... RUINER getting up and looking over in disbelief, and the fans don't know what to do, what to say, shock. Sommers violently picks up the body of Gabriel and tosses him into the ring, Baker is looking over confused and is down off the apron, chasing after McFadden, only for Sommers to level him with a lariat! DEMOS regains himself and quickly locks in the SIDS Clutch! 1.............. 2........ not this way.. not THIS way.. 3! Its over! OdZ retains the titles, and McFadden is a giant little squirmy piece of shit! McFadden and Sommers head to the back, as McFadden is laughing maniacally, twirling his cane. He is heard shouting "You were weak, Gabriel! You were weak! You let these people get into your head! Sommers is strong! You both are weak"

If anything, this helped Sommers, as this gives him some time to rest up before his match against D. Officials are cleaning out the ring and helping both Celtic Bruisers to the back, Gabriel refusing a stretcher or assistance from officials and is being dragged out, Baker draping his arm over his shoulder. The fans applaud as the two make their way to the back, both beaten down and without the tag titles, a look of determination in Gabriel's eyes.

D making his way down to the ring now, looking as ready as ever to take the world on. Here comes Sommers now, to a loud, loud array of boos, and he is getting the "Tommy Fiero Garbage Treatment" now as well, Seamus McFadden in tow, yelling at the fans to shut up! This match was as hard-hitting as they come, D using the more traditional Japanese style with his striking and moves that look like they hurt, while Dan is just a fucking monster and likes to hurt people. McFadden getting in his trademarked 'cheap shots(TM)' on D whenever the ref isn't looking, and the crowd is molten for this match! D, who years in the making has been waiting for this chance to finally claim the throne of Spunk Pro, get out of the shadow of Spunk and his brother, Jesus X, and claim what he feels to be his destiny. Of course the only problem right now is a 280 pound monster with fists of granite and a knee of solid steel as well as the little carny bastard waving his cane around on the outside. Dan is in firm control now, as a series of backdrops and devastating lariats have really gotten to D's head. Dan has him up for the Nightmare, and the crowd is erupting, there is commotion, Paddy Baker running down the ramp, and the ref dashes out to stop him, as Dan drops D, shouting at the ref to get back in here and let him kill D. McFadden down! McFadden down! Gabriel just jumped out of the crowd and clocked him in the back of the head! Gabriel grabs the cane, and holds it up to the lights, the fans going nuts. Sommers still isn't paying attention, as Gabriel has slid into the ring. D is staggering to his feet as well. Gabriel is poised behind Sommers, whom he taps on the shoulder.. Sommers turns around and -- WHACK -- WHIFF! Sommers ducks, D off the ropes and Gabriel moves out of the way, Sommers didn't see that lariat coming! D just took his freaking head off with that lariat! The ref slides in just in time for the count... 1.....2.......3!!! D has done it! D, who wasn't even supposed to be involved in this will go on to face JACK DOD FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP!

Sommers is up, and he looks like he has no clue what has happened, he is looking around and look out, Gabriel in the ring, and he uses that cane and just cracks him right in the skull with it! Sommers is out! Gabriel stands over him, the cane held high as we cut away, and until next time, this is SPUNK PRO, and this is CHAOS.
